Patrick Carroll

Year: 2004

Description:
An artwork from a major body of work consisting of over 30 pieces, The Bushfire Series - Black. Part of his lifelong fascination with bushfires. The first ever painting he did as a young boy was of a bushfire scene at a nearby property which could be seen while he sat and painted from the roof of his family home in Bathurst. He was told by early mentors not to use black paint, the rebel in him protested against this and the Bushfire subject was a perfect opportunity to work extensively with black.
