Yunfang (David) Wang

WANG Yunfang was born in Shanghai, China. Elected as a member of the AWI in 2016, David is also a member of the Artists Association of Anhui, China, and a member of the Industrial Design Arts Association of Shanghai. David arrived in Sydney in 1997 and studied at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, graduating with a Master of Painting in 2010. Australia artists profoundly influenced his approach to contemporary art. Since 1979, David has held numerous solo exhibitions, and participated in many group exhibitions, both in China and Australia, including the Anhui Museum, China (1982, 1984,1987), the Shanghai Worker’s Club (1987), the Xiamen Culture Gallery (1990), Willoughby Council (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002), the China Cultural Centre, Sydney (2004), Gosford Regional Gallery (2009, 2018), Taipei Cultural Centre (2015), Parliament House, NSW (2016), Hunter’s Hill Council (2017), 541 Art Space, Sydney (2018) and the Live In Art Gallery, Sydney (2018).
