Lan Wang
WANG Lan is a Chinese artist born in Beijing in 1953. In 1977, she was admitted to the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, where she later taught after graduating. During her tenure, WANG Lan pursued postgraduate studies at the academy and obtained her master’s degree in 1989. WANG Lan is a member of both the Chinese Artists Association and the Chinese Printmakers Association. In 1991, she settled in Australia with her husband, the renowned artist SHEN Jiawei, and they currently reside in the artist village Bundeena in New South Wales. Many of Lan’s works are held in the collection of the National Art Museum of China, The Liaoning Museum (Shenyang, China), Heilongjiang Art Gallery (Harbin, China), The Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts (Shenyang, China), Shenyang and Sydney Children Hospital (NSW, Australia). Lan has been regarded as one of the top ten female artists in China since the 1980s. However, she remains humble and dedicated to her art, focusing on her artistic career for decades.
