Kien Situ
Kien Situ (b.1990, Australia) is a multidisciplinary Asian-Australian artist whose work spans architecture, sculpture, film, sound, and installation. His practice focuses on the themes of formation and change, exploring concepts such as matter, time, identity, and heritage from a multicultural perspective. Drawing on his Chinese and Vietnamese background, Situ interrogates the intersections of immigrant and refugee identities in Australia, creating works that reflect the complexities of transformation, tension, and hybridity. His use of Chinese Mò ink combined with architectural materials symbolizes the interplay between historical context and contemporary expression, mirroring his own experiences of displacement and re-contextualization.
