Erika Sorby

Erika Sorby explores the strength and passion of female portraiture, alongside still-life assemblages which reference a contrast of raw yet refined elegance. Predominantly working with oils, Sorby captures her subjects with powerful bold strokes of colour and line. Her works also pay homage to art history greats such as Goya, Matisse, Picasso, Beckman and Neel. This historical understanding, as well as her experimentation with composition and technical elements, form part of her artistic practice and unique style.
