Dimensions: 45 x 26 x 16 cm
Medium: This sculptural form with its Cycladic curves, has something so still, and yet has movement; so very quiet and yet with a real vitality. The unpredictable raku firing marks the form, accentuating the symmetry of the piece. The body lines reflect a kind of truth, an unidealized portrayal of the various textures and tones of flesh. A mix of porcelain and raku clay covered in a porcelaneous slip. Patterned by hand with tape to resist glaze. Glazed with resist slip and raku glaze. Thereafter fired in gas kiln followed by post fire reduction.
