Transition to Spring

Dana Dion Dana Dion

Dimensions: 133x129cm

Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

Dion defines her work as a place of both discovery and intrinsic communion: “Painting a landscape creates, for me and hopefully my viewers, a sense of shared ownership and belonging: a connection, a duty of care, and common experience. Intuition of the landscape and boldness drive the work. The art aims to capture the interaction of branches, trees, vegetation, rocks, hills, lakes and water. Trees, for example, create “windows” to the view beyond; encapsulating the intimacy of the Australian landscape: the slow-moving flux of trees, leaves and branches, disappearing and reappearing, and the subtle changes in light, space and texture.”
