Izette Felthun Izette Felthun

Dimensions: 48 x 28.5 x 10 cm

Year: 2021

Medium: This vessel leans backwards through space to create a sense of barely perceptible motion, so the centre of gravity moves away from the vertical. I am interested in the contrast between the classical ideal body of the past and the bodies of today. The markings of the Raku firing evoking lace like fine lines enveloping the form. Each sculptural work is concerned with the three main musical principals of harmony, rhythm and counterpoint. A mix of porcelain and raku clay covered in a porcelaneous slip. Naked Raku fired.
