Medium: These two related voluptuous forms can be correlated to the nuances of the human body. Each curve, dip and bulge offering an emotive presence. The sculptured forms explore abstracted shape compositions. The forms enfold one another enhancing the beauty of the negative space. The ultimately unpredictable raku process yields variety on the burnished surface, with the naked raku crackle following and defining the curves allowing for subtle shifts in colour on the surface. A mix of porcelain and raku clay covered in a porcelaneous slip. Patterned by hand with tape to resist glaze. Glazed with resist slip and raku glaze. Thereafter fired in gas kiln followed by post fire reduction.
