North off the Waratah Track This track is typically known for it’s wonderous waratahs but I painted this view looking north from the track in the cooler months where the lighting was subtle and created a e gentle, soft meandering of the eye through the bush to the distant escarpment. Just as Cezanne sees triangles in the landscape, the wild and often unruly Australian bush can more easily be comprehended and digested when journeying through a serpentine of triangular interlocking forms. The longer you observe this piece the subtle geometry of the bush will be revealed.
