Walk with me (Wodi Wodi)
Melinda Giblett
Dimensions: 115 x 87cm
Year: 2021
Medium: oil on polyester
Description:
The Wodi Wodi people have trodden lightly on Dharawal land and cared for it over time; taking little and leaving much. In turn, many diverse species of flora and fauna have sanctuary here. In the cooler months, intriguing vivid blue mushrooms can be seen growing in the underbrush while in the springtime delicate ferns unfurl in the light beneath massive Gymea lilies. Dramatically steep escarpment formations give way to lush Cabbage tree palm forests enroute to the coast- the abundance of form and luscious colour of the place is arresting.
