Dimensions: 44 x 25 x 20 cm
Medium: I enjoy the energy that comes from exploring the ideas and being totally engrossed in the meditative process of the slow hand building technique. This vessel reflects a woman who is both empowered and fragile, positioned on the edge of the pedestal. The rose madder coloured slip is used as a way of supporting the form, rather than dominating the form. During the final Raku firing I relinquish some control as this process brings the surface alive. A mix of porcelain and raku clay covered in a coloured porcelaneous slip. Patterned by hand with tape to resist glaze. Glazed with resist slip and raku glaze. Thereafter fired in gas kiln followed by post fire reduction.
