Ambiguously Curved I
Dimensions: 47 x 18 x 12.5 cm
Medium: Izette uses the vessel as a metaphor for the human body, she creates a dialogue between the ‘skin’ or the exterior of the pot, and the emotional interior. During the building of the piece the process of instinct and intuition takes over abstracting the sculpture/vessel. The surface mark making is subdued with the muted subtle colours of slips. It is influenced by Modernist Art. A mix of porcelain and raku clay covered in a porcelaneous coloured slip. Naked Raku fired.
