Pont du Carousel
Anna Johnson
Dimensions: 223 x 130cm
Year: 2021
Medium: acrylic on linen
Description:
In 2019 I was crossing a bridge out of the gates of the Louvre in Paris. A massive cloud far vaster than the entire building hung like a boulder over the roofline. In that moment the sky became a mountain range and the grey streets a river. So, although this painting is an elegy to Australian colours, the idea is from that moment: running from a museum in the rain into a catastrophic yet beautiful grey sky
